Think your online passwords are secure? Think again. Not long ago, author Herbert H. Thompson asked some of his friends for their permission to let him break into their online banking accounts using only information about them, their families and their acquaintances that's available online. Did he succeed? Oh boy, did he! Whether you read all about it in The Red Tape Chronicles or checked out Thompson's original article in Scientific American, I guarantee you'll be looking for ways to make your online passwords more secure than they are now. And maybe start removing some of that personal data from social networking sites too.
