Fring iPhone VoIP Application Now Available
Wednesday, October 8, 2008
When fringland ltd. previewed its VoIP application for the iPhone in April 2008, the app followed most of the rules it was supposed to. In particular, it sent calls over wifi but not over the cellular data network. It also broke a rule, however, by requiring an unlocked or "jailbroken" iPhone — that is, one modified to run third-party software. Apple Inc. expressly forbade that at the time. But now all seems forgiven. The fring VoIP application for the iPhone and iPod touch is now officially available through the iPhone App Store.
