Attention Dr. Nayland Smith! Whoever that is hacking into your computer, it's probably not Fu Manchu — in spite of the popular media fantasy about a coordinated attempt by the Chinese government to break into U.S. military computers and steal secrets. Bruce Schnieir admitted that there is a lot of hacking coming out of China, but insists that the reprobates behind it are basically young, male, patriotic Chinese citizens merely trying to demonstrate that they can hack just as well as everyone else.
