London to be Wifi City

Free municipal wifi was flavor of the month in the U.S. a couple of years ago, but it's fallen out of favor recently. Not in Merrie Olde England, however. New London Mayor Boris Johnson has just announced that he wants London to become a wifi city where the Internet is available anywhere. "Let's do it, beginning in Stratford in this fantastic area of opportunity," he told the BBC, referring to the 2012 Olympic site. Johnson feels there's a need to generate a "sense of excitement in the middle of the city." Read all about it in BBC News.
