Many email users are abandoning stand-alone email clients like Outlook and Eudora for the convenience of Web-based email services like Gmail. But while Web-based email is often billed as a free service, the old adage about there being no free lunch definitely applies. Many of the most popular Web-based email services are prime targets for malicious hackers, and some users run into mysterious technical problems that are never solved or even explained.
